L’Encelade is a phonographic production label specialising in Baroque music set up in Versailles in 2010. The label sets out to promote new repertoires, compositions and performers, with an approach combining musicology, authenticity and sheer musical enjoyment...

L’Encelade sets out to offer all artists - whether already well-known or in the early stages of their careers - continued opportunities for freedom and artistic expression in an increasingly standardised world, allowing them to explore and share works that stray from the beaten track. We aim to offer access to unusual works by taking an authentic, sincere approach to performance - this is what our work is all about. All our releases fly the flag for both artistic and technical quality, and one result of this is the decision to make our digital catalogue available in High Definition.

L’Encelade CDs are now distributed in France and most other European countries and also in Japan. The digital versions are available worldwide on major distribution platforms such as iTunes, Deezer, Spotify and Qobuz.

We have been given a rapid and very enthusiastic welcome by professionals and critics, and our albums have been praised in the media. In France, music magazines such as Diapason and Classica have acclaimed many of our releases. France Musique and many web magazines specialising in the Baroque repertoire have commended our work. L’Encelade releases have also proved popular with mainstream newspapers such as Le Monde, Le Figaro, L’Obs, La Croix, etc.

There have also been many international reviews, for instance in Germany, the UK and Benelux; one album was playlisted by Radio Canada; Bayerischer Rundfunk and NHK in Japan have also both mentioned our work on a number of occasions.

L’Encelade is a label for both young artists and seasoned professionals who share our philosophy - we offer these talented newcomers, and indeed anyone with unusual ideas, an alternative to the traditional music industry. In this respect, we see ourselves not as being in competition with the established organisations but more as a necessary complement to them.

L'Encelade CDs are distributed in France by Socadisc, and by Quintessence in other countries. Digital versions are distributed by Believe Digital.
